It has been a while since I last posted so I feel it's necessary I update my avid blog readers of the happenings in HP's life.
I've been to the strip club three times in the last four weeks. If strip clubs were a baseball farm system the Vegas strip clubs would be the major league team. They are top of the line in all aspects. Chubby's would be "A" ball. There is some talent but none are polished yet. Some have the look but not the attitude, some have the attitude but not the look. Some just don't have the experience. Club Bristol in Sun Prairie would be a poor Home Talent team. Some are past their prime, others never had a prime. But what they don't have in talent they make up for in effort.
Although the levels of play vary, I enjoy going to any ball game; the same can be said for a strip club.
On an expense note I cleaned out a large portion of my bank account to purchase my new vehicle this spring. I bought a use Cadillac CTS, obviously straight cash.
The high school baseball season is over and I don't understand what is wrong with some of the youth today. Some kids are so spoiled and have no concept of team. On a positive note our team won conference at one point winning 7 straight conference games. I expected this at the start of the year.
On a ridiculous note four seniors thought it would be ok to miss the practice before regional finals because a group was skipping school and going to the brewers game. I am shocked any athlete could think this is a good idea. As it turned out two did not go to the game, while the other two did they came back in time for most of the practice. So they infuriated their coaches and teammates for 5 innings of a brewers game at the end of May. No surprise we lost the regional final game. Those four are quite the senior leaders.
On a positive note I enjoyed coaching a lot. Also my brother and cousin had very nice seasons. My brother hit third and played shortstop and pitcher. As I expected he went from the third or fourth pitcher to start the year and ended up as the number one. He had two great outings on the season where he pitched a 3 hitter against the top team in the conference and a 4 hit shutout at Green Bay Preble. He also hit a solid 350 as a sophomore.
My cousin a junior rightfielder hit cleanup most of the season and showed flashes of power with 3 HRs including a 7th inning GS to take the lead against a rival. This home run was at least a 400 foot shot.
The legion season starts in two weeks, and hopefully we can build on the HS season especially without the senior distractions.
Although I have not played a lot of poker this spring, my cash play is back on track, and hopefully I can make a nice run in the next three weeks to possibly make a late June Vegas/WSOP run.
Finally, I love summer. Baseball everyday, sleep as late as I want, drink 3+ nights a week, beer tents, country concerts, girls in skirts and bikinis, that is living the good life.
